How to Add a Limited Stock Count to Cart Items

Show low-stock warnings in the cart to drive urgency and conversions.

Show Inventory Level Text displays a low-stock warning on cart items — like "Only 4 left in stock" — pulling live inventory numbers from Shopify to create genuine urgency and push hesitant buyers to complete their purchase.

🧠 Pro Tip: Match your trigger threshold to your inventory size — smaller brands tend to trigger at 3–5 units, while larger brands with more stock often use 15–20. Setting it too high removes the sense of true scarcity.

🛠️ How to Set It Up

  1. Go to Cart Blocks > Items.

  2. Scroll down the Product Settings section and find Show Inventory Level Text at the bottom.

  3. Click into it to open the inventory text settings.

  4. Set the trigger threshold — the stock level at which the warning appears (e.g. 5 means it triggers when 5 or fewer units remain for that size/SKU). This can go up to a maximum of 20.

  5. Customize the message text — by default it shows the remaining count (e.g. "Only 1 left in stock"), but you can change this to something like "Limited Stock" or "Limited Sizes Left" instead.

  6. If you'd rather not show the countdown number at all, remove the Remaining Count Tag and keep just your custom text.

  7. Adjust the color of the font and styling to match your brand.

  8. Click Save.

This pulls directly from your Shopify inventory, so it only shows on items that are actually below the threshold you set — keeping the scarcity messaging accurate and meaningful.
