If you’re not offering free shipping during a sale, turning off the free shipping progress bar in Unicorn isn’t enough. Your free shipping is actually controlled by your Shopify shipping settings, so you’ll need to switch it off there too.
🧠 Pro Tip: Want free shipping for just a day or a certain spend level? Use a Unicorn automatic discount instead of editing your Shopify shipping settings. You can schedule it to turn on and off, which makes it much easier to manage during a sale.
🛠️ How to Set It Up
In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Shipping and delivery.
Open your General profile.
Find your free shipping setting and turn it off for the duration of your sale.
Turn off the free shipping progress bar in your Unicorn cart as well, if it’s still switched on.
When your sale ends, go back and turn your free shipping setting on again in the Shipping And Delivery settings.
The threshold in your Unicorn progress bar mirrors what you’ve set in Shopify, and your Shopify shipping and delivery settings are what actually make shipping free during business-as-usual periods. If you only change the cart, free shipping can still apply at checkout.
To run a free shipping offer during your sale, create an automatic discount in Unicorn. You can make shipping free for certain products or spend levels, choose which shipping method to make free, and schedule it to turn on and off.
