How to optimise your offers for LLMs (AI Agents)

Optimising Offer Meta Titles & Descriptions for LLMs (AIO)

As search evolves, tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity are becoming a real discovery channel for products and offers.

Instead of just listing links, they summarise, compare, and recommend, which means your offer metadata needs to be clear, descriptive and easy to understand.

This guide will help you optimise your Unicorn Cart offers (free gifts, bundles, upsells, etc.) so they’re more likely to be picked up and recommended by AI.

Why this matters

When someone asks:

“What’s the best deal on XX products right now”

AI doesn’t guess, it looks for:

  • Clear descriptions of offers

  • Defined conditions (like spend thresholds)

  • Strong product context

If your offer is vague, it’s much less likely to be surfaced and recommended.

Step 1: Make sure you've allowed your Unicorn cart offers to be discoverable in AI & Search

In Settings, go to Cart Settings - then at the very bottom, check the box titled 'make cart offers discoverable to AI & Search'

Step 2. Write a strong Meta Title for your offer

In your Add To Unlock settings for 'Gift With Purchase' rewards, you'll see this section at the bottom of the reward settings:

Your meta title should quickly tell both humans and AI:

  • What the offer is

  • What the value is

  • When it applies

  • What it relates to

Simple formula:

[Offer Type] + [Value] + [Condition] + [Brand/Product]

Examples

Too vague:

  • “Free Gift Available”

  • “Bundle Deal”

Much better:

  • “Free Silk Scrunchie on Orders Over $75 | Tiny Jewellery”

  • “Build Your Own Skincare Bundle & Save 20% | Vitamin C Range”

  • “Buy 2 Get 1 Free Protein Bars | High-Protein Snacks”

Tips:

  • Write it like you’d say it to a customer

  • Be specific - clarity beats cleverness

  • Avoid stuffing keywords

Step 3. Writing a Meta Description That Actually Helps

Your meta description is where you explain the offer properly.

Think of it as answering:

“What is this offer and how does it work?”

Simple formula:

What it is + Why it’s valuable + How it works + (Optional context)

Examples

Too generic:

  • “Get a free gift with your order.”

Stronger:

  • “Receive a free silk scrunchie when you spend $75 or more on handmade jewellery. Automatically added to cart - no code required.”

  • “Create your own skincare bundle and save 20% when you mix and match Vitamin C products. Perfect for brightening and hydration routines.”

  • “Buy any 2 protein bars and get 1 free. Ideal for post-workout snacks with high protein and low sugar.”

Tips:

  • Keep it natural and conversational

  • Explain how it works (auto-applied, no code, etc.)

  • Use full sentences - AI relies on context

IMPORTANT: Make Your Offer Easy for AI to Understand

The clearer your offer is, the easier it is for AI to recommend it.

Try to always define:

  • Offer type (free gift, discount, bundle)

  • Trigger (spend $X, buy X items, etc.)

  • Reward (what they get)

  • Scope (specific products or sitewide)

  • Region (if relevant)

Example:

“Customers receive a free silk scrunchie when their cart total exceeds $75. The offer applies to all jewellery products and is automatically added at checkout for Australian customers.”

This kind of clarity makes a big difference.

BONUS optimisations:

Enrich Your Product Data (This is a big one)

Your offers rely heavily on your product data.

If your products aren clearly described, AI has less context to work with and your offers become harder to recommend.

Focus on these areas:

Product Titles

Be descriptive and specific.

Instead of:

  • “Gold Necklace”

Try:

  • “14k Gold Dainty Chain Necklace - Minimalist Everyday Jewellery”

Product Descriptions

Include:

  • Materials

  • Use cases

  • Who it’s for

  • Key benefits

Example:

“A lightweight 14k gold chain necklace designed for everyday wear. Tarnish-resistant and perfect for layering with other minimalist jewellery pieces.”

Product Attributes

Where possible, include:

  • Material (gold, cotton, stainless steel)

  • Category (necklace, skincare, supplements)

  • Use case (daily wear, sensitive skin, post-workout)

Keep Naming Consistent

If your offer talks about:

  • “Vitamin C products”

  • “Protein bars”

  • “Summer dresses”

Make sure your product titles and descriptions use those same terms.

This helps AI confidently connect the dots.

Quick Checklist

Before you publish your cart:

  • Meta title clearly explains the offer

  • Meta description explains how it works

  • Rules are clear (thresholds, products, etc.)

  • Product data supports the offer

  • Language is natural and easy to understand

AI rewards clarity and context - not puns or clever phrases.

The easier your offer is to understand, the more likely it is to be recommended.
